iPod Touch 5th gen problem.

hi, i just bought an iPod Touch 5th for my wife as a birthday gift, after a few monts of usage the wierd things happen on it..

it freeze..!! and the screen shows a white/gray and vertical black/grey.. i try to turn it off but doesn't work and also the screen was not responding..

then i try to hold sleep/wake+home button and it works..!! but now my iPod won't charge and turned on at all, even i hooked it up to my Macbook try two buttons still not working.. impossible if it's get water into or droped somewhere because my wife always neat to keeping her stuff..

any idea..??

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If defective and not abused Apple will replace it on the spot

here's what happened.. after the screen comes like that i try to force restart by a combination of sleep/wake+home button (and it turns off, not restarting) then i connect it to wall charger, i thought it won't comes to turn on (i was panic.. LOL).

so i try two commbination button again sleep/wake+home, it turns on and the battery icon appears with red color indicates the battery was drain and turns off again (maybe this is my mistake) until now i cannot do anything with the iPod.. turn on, charging, connect to my Macbook.. it's compeletly blank screen..

my question is, is this a hardware problem or software problem..?? and i think i entered a DFU or recovery mode since i plugged in to wall charger and how to exit..??

i tried your method none of those working.. please help.. 😟

i know the last solution is take it to Genius Bar of Apple Service Provider, but i'm a little bit corious about this..

The same thing is happening to me twice. I will have to the the ipod back again. good luck.
