HI,

Is your Mac's Serial Number Missing in System Information > Hardware ?

It may be missing if the Logic board has been replaced in a repaired or refurbishment.

It is held in a chip that can only be alter with UV light and is supposed to "flashed" back when the board is replaced.

It seems at OS X 10.8.2 that FaceTime and Messages are now using this to verify something about the Mac and then issues a "Certificate" that ends up in the Keychain.
