Tried to power on and tried to power off no response. Help!

I have tried and tried to slide the unlock on the screen. No response the arrow won't move. Tried to power off no response. The arrow will not move so I can't power off. Any solutions please help. I am lost without my phone. The phone rings. I can't answer it. It shows missed call but can't use the phone. Any suggestions.
