According to the article, repairing permissions should do the trick. Don't delete the folder. Whether or not you want to delete the startup item is up to you. I don't use any Intego stuff.

Nov 19, 2013 11:44 AM in response to Mike1961by jackfromnb,Mike, not sure you are still in trouble but here goes. I had a similar problem and I think I found the solution. Open Finder, click on Go, click on Computer, click MacIntosh HD, click Library, click Startupitems, find file you are looking for (in this case, Intego Backup Assistant) and drag it to trash. Restart and hopefully the popup is gone.
