how to format ipod classic

ihave big problem in my ipod right now i try to conect my ipod in pc windows 7

isee the massge ipod needs to format if itry to format it can`t be format

when i see my size ipod in pc it was 1 mega only

and i have ipod classic 80 giga

itry to use alot of program to format my ipod it not accept to format

right now if i try to open my ipod it open and i see apple and it make restart of him self

and make alot of start and not open

help me please ineed help
