"Please install Apple Application Support" on QuickTime

I click on QuickTime and get the error "Please install Apple Application Support". I tried many things to fix this, but non worked. This error also effects iTunes and doesn't let iTunes run either. I cleaned my registry with a registry fixer and completely removed every program and software from Apple Inc.. I then restarted the computer and runned the registry fixer again. Then I first downloaded Quicktime and installed that (ending up with the same error) and then downloaded iTunes and installed it. Nothing seems to work.

PLEASE HELP, THIS IS URGENT!

P.S. I am running on Windows 7 with .NET FrameWork 4.5

Quicktime and iTunes-OTHER, Windows 7

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

http://www.rarlab.com/

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Does it install properly for you?

If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Still doesn't work.

When I open QuickTime:

-It says exactly "Please install Apple Application Support."

...and also...

-it says another message reading "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)"

When I open iTunes:

-It says exactly "The program can't start because MediaToolbox.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

These messages are the same as before and the same after I followed your steps. I'm mainly trying to fix iTunes, but the Application Support is one of the problems. I also contacted Apple and they walked me through everything step-by-step. They tryed 3 ways and neither of them worked.

What version of QuickTime, I guess not real important but I'll go on QT 7.7.3

MediaToolbox.dll is a component of Apple Application Support located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\Installer Cache\AppleApplicationSupport2.3\AppleApplicationSupport msi > you could try double clicking on that for a repair? Or C:\WINDOWS\Installer and locate the AppleApplicationSupport msi to re-install it.

I doubt either will work for you? At this point.

I'd uninstall QT and iTunes again then use Windows Installer Clean-up Utility from this site and try installing again.
