I think that calls received whilst do not disturb is activated should go to message, not just be cut off. Many people say they think my phone was not working. An option to send callers to message when DND is on would solve that issue, it is also less rude than just cutting off a caller.

Ah...when DND is active, calls go straight to voicemail, they are not "cut off".
Interesting, any calls which I get just receive a single tone as if I hung up, no option for message or anything. I get a missed call notification. I see no settings to change that, and my voice mail is set up correctly and works fine. Maybe there are settings in messaging which cover DND, I'll take a look. Thanks for the input WJ.
Given WJs comment, and more "playing around" I have to ask, does anyone else have the same problem, DND cutting off calls, and if so, does anyone have an idea where I might have setting problems stopping calls from going to message?
Sounds like you need to contact your carrier. DND sends the calls directly to voice-mail, which is a carrier feature. Is you voice mail working otherwise?
Yes my voice messaging works prefectly, 'til now I just thought that DND just stopped incoming and wished it went to message. From replies here I now know that the problem is my phone, settings or carrier. Thanks all for the input
