We need much more detail than what you posted. How old is the machine you are trying to boot? Is the disc a retail or system specific disc? PPC indicates your machine dates from early 2006 or older and has no Intel CPU.

Apple's warrenty database will identify the type of Mac you have. Your serial number is securely sent, but you get only the name of your machine.
