My song has an intro followed by the body of the song. I want the intro to play ONCE and then the body to continuosly repeat.
However, when I put the yellow repeat bar above just the body, then the intro does not play.

You could define the "intro" part as an arrangement region and the "body" part as a second arrangement region. This will enable you to duplicate the "body" arrangement region several times to loop it; see: GarageBand '11: Edit arrangement regions

I would proceed like Leonie said because you always want a finite number of repeats. Alternatively, if you define the yellow region as the "body" of your song, hit play and then manually set the playhead to the beginning (by clicking into the ruler), the song will play from the start and then be caught in the loop forever once it reaches it.
