Mac Pro with dual ATI HD 5770 cards, connecting to LED TV's.

I have a project were I'm going to be deploying a Mac Pro 6-core processors and two ATI Radeon HD 5770 cards. I'm planning on mounting a pair of Apple 27" LED Displays, but also need to attach a pair of 47" LED TV's (1080p). The plan is for the station to monitor and display Social Media data for various clients. A sort of mini command center for Social Media.

From what I'm reading, going Mini DP to HDMI isn't an optimal solution. And this is the part that I need some guidence on. If I go Mini DP to HDMI, I can do video only? I have to have an active connection to the TV's to be fully fuctional from the Mac Pro, and only the DVI connection is an active connection?

What configuration should I be looking for with the 2 x 27" Apple Displays and 2 x 47" LED TV's (1080p) to get the best, optimal configuration?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), Mac OS X (10.7.4), 4G RAM

Modern Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters and cables do support both audio and video.

Because they are Passive, not Active, then don't work when three displays are connected to one card, but since you have two cards for four display, you should be able to use them.

I'm not sure if both HDMI TVs can use the same card, or if you use one on each.

Malcolm,

I was hoping you might reply to my post, I just wasn't sure that I should have hoped you'd reply on Christmas Day. :-)

Have you had much experience with the Moshi product? It seems to have gotten horrid reviews. I'm looking at a similiar option from Cables2Go, but it's basically the same adapter.

Yes, I thought I'd go with the dual cards, since I needed at least 4 displays and I'd split it 2 to each card. That's good news!

A friend has used the Moshi adapter woth no problems, but some reviww do say it is delicate.

Maybe the Belkin cable is more rugged. It is too new for reviews but Belkin has been making adapters for a long time, so should know what they're doing.

There are other cables with reviews.
