iPhone 4S water damage replacement phone and/or replacement parts

Ok. So I know water damage has been done to my iPhone 4S. Only on the bottom. I know this cuz the water damage indicator in the charge port is red. Happened in the rain. I have AppleCare. Can I pay to have Apple fix the water damage, or get a replacement iPhone. A replacement through AT&T will cost me over $400. I don't want to pay that much for it.

Could it possibly be better to buy the replacement parts for the phone, and just do that? If so, where can I get the "complete guts" kit. And about where can I ind this "kit" if one is available?

Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store. Genius makes the Warranty determination. If found to be out of Warranty, but if you have AppleCare + (plus), the replacement iPhone 4S exactly like yours will be $50. If no coverage it will be $199 for replacement.
