MY IPOD 5TH GEN WONT CHARGE!

Ok, so i brought my ipod touch 5th generation around christmas time. It has been working perfectly fine, however my ipod touch died three days ago and wouldn't charge;this was because my cable had broken. Today, I purchased a new charger and left it on charge for more than half an hour, I then returned and my ipod only displayed a red empty battery and a charger sign pointing at a lightning bolt. There is obviously something wrong with my ipod and deffinatly not my charger. I also tried charging it on my laptop but nothing happened, even itunes didn't pop up.

Do I need a new battery or something? Can anyone help?😢

Not Charge

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
