I try to filter by setting a searchcriterium on copyright notice. I cannot get this to get any results, neither with the 'is', nor 'starts with', nor 'includes'.
Can anyone confirm this is a bug? This bug may be caused by the difference in the name of the copyright field: 'Copyright' in the filter dialog and 'Copyright Notice' in the metadata (info) tab.

There are two "copyright" fields in metadata Aperture recognizes. They are separate and independent.
- EXIF "Copyright" (set in camera, cannot be changed in Aperture)
- IPTC "Copyright" in the "Status" section
The IPTC copyright field is labeled differently in different Metadata Presets. (I don't know why.)
The reason your search isn't working is because you are searching the wrong field. Use the Filter Rule "IPTC" set to "Copyright Notice" -- as shown by Frank above.

you can search any of these three copyright fields; so if you actually want to search the EXIF set by the camera (to search for contradictory entries), search by adding an EXIF Rule "Copyright is/includes ..." from the "Add Rule" drop-down menu. Only you cannot change this field from within Aperture.
