So if I have a macbook pro late 2010 or ipad 2 does that mean I can no longer use airplay?

If I have a Macbook Pro late 2010 or Ipad 2 does that mean and I have upgraded to IOS 6 and use that latest version of Mountain Lion does that mean I can no longer get video display using airplay? Audio comes through.

iPad 2, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I was about to return my Apple Tv to the store. Luckily all stores were closed today.

The iPad 2 should work. The MacBook Pro is not new enough to support AirPlay mirroring.
