After connecting a Hanns.G HL269 monitor to my MacBook air I entered the disc for the Installation Guide for windows 7 that came with the monitor. Where canI obtain the installation guide for a Mac?

You don't need drivers. Buy the appropriate adapter (Mini DisplayPort to DVI or Mini DisplayPort to HDMI) and then the cable from the adapter to the display. It's plug & play.
I have the display working and connected via the above mini Displayport to DVI.
The monitor screen is on and working.
I just do not recoqnize how to get my Macbook Air desktop to show on the new monitor?
Directions say insert the CD-ROM into the CD dive on your computer. Done.
The CD_Rom will automatically execute and display the MAIN MENUE.
That is what is not happening. Is it because the CD_ROM is windows7?
Those are two Q&A steps from the manufacturer's website. The first one indicating that the "driver" CD is not necessary. The second one is worth following to make sure the monitor is behaving properly. In addition you can go into System Preferences > Displays and then the Arrangement tab to see if the monitor responses from there.
