I'm being asked to buy a new installation. Is that right?
In the App Store is Final Cut Pro on the purchased page? If not make sure you're logged into the store with the same Apple ID you used to purchase the application.
Yes, on the purchased page (after I've logged in) it shows up with "install". I've used the same Apple ID forever. When I click on "Install" I get the message:
"Final Cut is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates."
There are no available updates.
Move the application to the trash and download it again to get the latest version.
