MacBook Pro home network - dropped connection

MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 cannot hold connection to router on home network for more than 15-30 seconds. New iPhone 4S on iOS 6.0.1 is a suspect, once it connected the problem started. Router is netgear WNDR3400 and can handle many more devices than currently attached. In past,login to Chrome on device by multiple users has caused this problem, not the case now. User failed to solve problem with reboot, forget network, possibly more simple fixes. Thanks for any pointers you can give. Also, standing by to provide forgotten and needed details.
