Since I updated to iOS 6 on my iPad, the mail screen does not rotate to landscape. The iPad will be in landscape but when I open the mail app, it changes to portrait immediately. When I exit the app, the iPad is still in landscape. The only other app I have noticed this problem with is Wikipedia. I have checked the rotation lock and it is definitely not on. What is wrong and how can it be fixed by someone not technically minded?

How did you force it to close? I am having the same issue with my new mini iPad but all other iPads work fine.
As I said, I checked the rotation lock and it is definitely not on. It is unlocked. This was the first thing I tried, because it seemed simple and I thought my daughter might have locked it accidentally.
I'm having this this exact issue that just started to happen again recently. Everything else I use rotates except for email. It will even briefly rotate to landscape mode then automatically switch back to portrait when first starting the application.
Fixed it by forcing the email program to close and restarted it. Sorry my post got split.
Rotation Lock is enabled.

Double-click the Home button and swipe the Task Bar to the right. Check if rotation lock is enabled on the far left.
I have done this already, as I said. I checked it, it is not enabled. IT IS UNLOCKED. The screen is able to rotate, but it doesn't.
