Incorrect size when photo edited in photoshop

If I am viewing an image at full screen in iPhoto and then open it for editing in Photoshop, The resulting saved image is the wrong size when it uploads to Flickr. Sometimes, it also appears at the wrong size when viewed in iPhoto as well. Generally, rebuilding thumnails corrects the problem. Likewise, images opened from the iPhoto grid view also do not appear incorrectly. Granted, I just named two work-arounds, but neither is very satisfying. Anyone else have a better idea?

Yes, letting editing aside, there is a major fail in the concept of Aperture for normal users.

Once you export into Photoshop or other third party program for editing, a copy will be saved in Aperture. But, not as in IPhoto as a Jpeg. Only Tiff, and this means uncompressed, so for edited pictures you will need 10x more space in your folder. Great concept- but only for Pro's who need optimum quality.

In Aperture there is not even an option to choose "save as" jpeg back after editing.

I have both programs and this is frustrating.

Yes, that's it. And even in peeping at 300% at every pixel you won't notice a difference between a Tiff and a Jpeg coded at level 10-12. It's a marketing thing in many cases. And the possibility to rearrange white balance or get the out blown highlights back, has nothing to do with professional photographers. They think and plan their shootings and do not make such errors.

I always thought the secret was never showing your mistakes to anyone. 😁

I do understand your point mkmichaelmk - the extra work for RAW and TIFF has never been worth it for me, and the way those guys go through hard disks! I know of pros who dedicate an external master HD and an external backup HD for each customer or project - plus cloud backup, because they're that paranoid.

(I'm not a pro, myself, I thought about going pro 30 years ago, then decided I didn't have the talent for art photography nor the people skills for portraiture.)

I had used iPhoto 9 happily for years, but I recently bought a new Macbook Air, and iPhoto 11 came right along with it. Now I have the very same problem discussed here in detail. I am stunned and disappointed that this bug was never fixed. I was also using PE 10. If I read this thread correctly, purchasing PE 11 won't help at all. Right?
What news of iPhoto 12? I don't like the sound of it and would hate to go from bad to worse.
