Need help with opening file

Need help with opening file

Hi All,

I have several files like the one below that Apple transferred from my old PC to my macbook when I bought it. I would like to open them up and see what is in them but do not know how. They do not open with iPhoto. If I try to I get a window saying unreadable script.

I am currently with 10.6. When the files were imported from the old PC I was at 10.5. I'd like to open them to see if I want to keep them or not.

I included screen shots but they did not post. When I 'Get Info" on the item it says that it is an iphoto document, but like I said it will not open with iphoto..

WHen I click on get info, there is no file type but rather it says "kind" and then iphoto. Above the info on it is a dark gray looking card shape that has "exec" in the upper left corner. Not suer why the screen shots don't take. They post to the message when I am composing but then they do not post when I submit the message..

I assume the "kind" of file is the file "type".

Under "Name" in 'Get Info,' at the end it should have '.' followed by the file type.

Sorry to take so long. This page takes minutes to open on my verizon card.

After name it says .max

In general you cannot open files intended for one operating system (Windows) on another operating system (Mac OS X). This seems to be one of those file types. So either see if you can get the same content in a different file type, find a Mac application that can open that type, or run Windows on the Mac.

I got your last reply about the incompatability via e-mail notification. However I could not open a new window to respond directly.

Anyway, I have been able to open most of the old PC stuff but I have not paid attention as to what file types work or not. Sounds like your correct though with the incompatability.
