Help...contact list did not "begin automatically after following procedure. How do i find SSL advanced setting??

Hi...followed instructions in manual.......Syncing Google contact list....from computer to ipad mini. In ipad settings...I went to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.....I added account in "other"..I added CardDav account. Then I went to contacts on Ipad... but nothing happened. Help
