Upgrade Question

I have a 2-year old MacBook Pro that's running OS X 10.6.8. I bought the Mountain Lion app and now it's icon shows in my dock, but with the words "OS X Mountain Lion - Paused". How do I get it to install?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

As Csound1 typed, you have the most current version of Snow Leopard and you should be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Try downloading Mountain Lion again and then try reinstalling.

Below are the requirements to run Mountain Lion:

If you have an external drive, you might want to consider copying the installer to the external drive before you attempt the upgrade. If something goes bad again, you can save the time of downloading the installer again. Once you make the upgrade, you can delete it from the external drive.

Two other thoughts before attempting to reinstall - do a backup and run Disk Utility/Repair Permissions. Repeat until it shows no repairs were made. Clearing the log in between runs can make the process less confusing.
