When iTunes is launched, I get "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." After re-installing iTunes, the error still appears.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Thanks! This error no longer comes up. But now, my Iphone does not appear in iTunes, nor in Windows Explorer on my Windows 7 desktop. But it does appear in both iTunes and Windows Explorer on my laptop which runs Windows 8... :-(
