Why wont iTunes 11 add movie files?

I cant get iTunes 11 to add movie files from my Vista PC! iTunes 10 worked absolutely fine, its only been since the upgrade. Ive tried "file - add file to library" and "file - add folder to library" and clicking and dragging the file into itunes, but nothing at all happens. It has on a couple of occasions over the last couple of weeks decided to add one file when trying to add a group of movie files, but i cant get this to consistently work or to add the other files. Ive tried reinstalling Quicktime and iTunes as id read that this would cure it, but still have the problem.

Does anyone have any idea how to sort this? As its really getting on my t**s because ive just bought Apple TV which is why i want the files on iTunes! Thanks to anyone who can help!

iPhone 4S, iOS 6
