I'm planning to buy an imac Late 2012 but my friends told me it works bad with windows, what do you guys think.

Work in what way with Windows®? Which version of Windows?
Do you want to install Windows on it, or talk to Windows computers with it?
Were these friends PC or Mac users?
I was thinking of installing Windows 7 but it can be 8 also. My friends were users of PC.
First, see this user tip in order to know if you must use a virtual machine or Boot Camp > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3321
If you're going to use a virtual machine, the 8 GB of memory of the Late 2012 iMac must be enough, but I recommend you to install more memory.
If you're going to use Boot Camp, it only supports the 64-bit Windows 7 version at this moment, but Windows 8 support will arrive soon. Note that Boot Camp won't work if you're going to order an iMac with a 3 TB hard disk
