iTunes keeps telling me I'm not authorized to sync my purchased songs

Over 5000 purchased songs. I've tried all the suggestions at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389, with no success. Can't believe Apple is preventing me from using thousands of dollars worth of purchases. I guess there are always other ways to get music ...
