OS X???

What is the difference between OS X mountain lion and Mac OS X mountain lion?

Will both of them be in the computer if the computer comes to me via a foundation? Or will I have to go to one of the apple stores to ask them to install it?

Is it okay if I get it from a foundation imstead of from the store? Will they (the foundation) most likely install all of the above for me? Will they take it from an apple store and not from best buy?

Yeah, I know, funny questions, but I gotta ask because I wanna know the answers to those questions already and make sure I am making the right choice with the foundation and which apple laptop to buy.

Those are slightly different names for the same product; aside from Apple, the only place you can get 10.8 is from your organization's LAN if it makes heavy usage of Macs.

Local area network. Organizations sometimes work out an arrangement with software vendors so that their members don't need to pay for that software individually.

If that method of getting Mountain Lion is applicable to you, ask your organization's IT department for instructions. If not, you need to buy it from the Mac App Store.

Ask the foundation. Note that if you're getting a boxed Mac and not one directly from the foundation, it will not come with anything specific to the foundation, but might include Mountain Lion anyway.

1. While the foundation may pay for part or all of it, it's otherwise the same as a boxed model purchased from Apple or a retailer. The statements about organizations above applies to educational institutions and companies.

2. Yes, those are the same.

Okay, for clarification purposes: OS X mountain lion and the other one are both the same thing. And so sunshine foundation won't supply me with OS X, I'll have to buy/install it via apple store? Got that all right?

1. Yes.

2. If they supply you with a Mac, it'll include Mac OS X. If that specific Mac includes a version older than 10.8 and you want 10.8, it needs to be bought from the Mac App Store. These are also the case for any Mac bought in the normal way.
