I am trying to migrate all of my purchased apps and books to my new iPad. Doing a backup of the old iPad under iTunes and restoring onto the new one does not restore the apps and books.

Is there a more efficient way than having to download again all of that content from the purchased tabs in iTunes store?

Thanks for any help you may provide

as long as you use the same apple ID for both devices, all you should have to do is:

(using the computer to sync)

back up the old one with a sync

un plug it

plug in your new one to the same computer

DUring the set up you'll be given a choice, to set up as new or to restore from the backup of your old one. Choose that and your new one will be a virtual clone of the old one.

I tried this the 1st time I connected the new iPad to iTunes on my PC. The purchased apps were not copied on the PC and this is probably the reason why they did not transfer. I then copied all of the purchased apps onto the PC and tried again to restore from the backup, but the result was the same. I decided to take a new backup of the old iPad and try the restore method again, but the result is the same.

Any idea about what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your help
