Seems to me like a power problem, try to charge it at 100% ( 2 or maybe 4 hours) and then trying to restore again

Maybe you should also try another USB ports, (the back one's are way better because they're almost never used) Or if you're using a usb hub, try connecting directly to your PC usb ports.

the USB cable can be the problem one too, so try using another usb cable... Or another computer, maybe a PC with Windows XP, that would be fail-proof...

if using another usb cable or changing the usb ports doesn't work, get your iPod in Disk mode (Hold the Menu and select button, and after it reboots, hold the Play/Pause and Select button) you should be able to restore after a few tries.

Good luck 😀

Okay, that means that USB cable is actually not transmitting any data to the iPod/Mac

You should try using another PC, not a mac, and see if you get the "Sync" icon at least.

i recommend you to take it to the customer service trought, they can try to restore it in their Macs, and they will tell you if it need a HD Replacement or Logical drive replacement.

Good Luck!
