Seems to me like a power problem, try to charge it at 100% ( 2 or maybe 4 hours) and then trying to restore again
Maybe you should also try another USB ports, (the back one's are way better because they're almost never used) Or if you're using a usb hub, try connecting directly to your PC usb ports.
the USB cable can be the problem one too, so try using another usb cable... Or another computer, maybe a PC with Windows XP, that would be fail-proof...
if using another usb cable or changing the usb ports doesn't work, get your iPod in Disk mode (Hold the Menu and select button, and after it reboots, hold the Play/Pause and Select button) you should be able to restore after a few tries.
Good luck 😀
It is at full power... and the plug is directly plugged into laptop. When i hold menu and select the only thing that shows up is plug into itunes to restore. and when i do all it shows is do not disconnect....
Okay it sems like there's not a power trouble, you might try to restore using a Windows XP PC, and the latest iTunes version, also, you can show us a little more information about the error you're getting.
Good Luck!
I have the newest itunes. and i rebooted my mac twice. its a white screen with do not disconnect at the bottom center with a "no" symblr flashing. and in the corner it shows its charged.
It could just be taking a REALLY LONG time to restore i dont know how long it usually takes.
okay, it should show a "Sync" symbol spinning in the top left corner, if there's not, you can unplugg your iPod and try again.
This is really weird, it shouldn't take more than 2 minutes :/
no sync thing.
just a charged symbol and the same screen its been like this for hours.... it said it was corrupted. and when i unplug it it says use itunes to restore and i get the same screen again..... : (
Okay, that means that USB cable is actually not transmitting any data to the iPod/Mac
You should try using another PC, not a mac, and see if you get the "Sync" icon at least.
i recommend you to take it to the customer service trought, they can try to restore it in their Macs, and they will tell you if it need a HD Replacement or Logical drive replacement.
Good Luck!
thank you so much.
im planning to take it to apple. esp since i got it in july.
can't be restored
