7Th Gen Ipod Nano won't Sync

1. go to itunes

2. click the ipod nano icon on the upper left

3. now you can .summary .music . movies .tv shows .photos

4. click music, then mark ENTIRE MUSIC LIBRARY

5. mark SYNC MUSIC on the top (it will show how many songs u have in your itunes, like 201 songs)

6. on the lower part you can see a SYNC button left to the sign DONE.

7. CLICK it and it will start syncing

Sometimes I don't understand Apple's ways of doing things... Went to the Apple help and didn't mention nothing about this. It is wonderful and frustrating at the same time to discover how easy it was... Thanks!

I have had iPads, iPods, and Mac Pros for a long time. We got a new nano 7th edition I believe. To get the nano loaded with my main computer music library was awful. I've done this numerous times over the years but of course forget a bit more each year or time I have to do it. 2+ hours later I found the advice above. Boom! 3 minutes later the nano is good to go with 2100+ songs. Never saw the Sync music click (#5) until edellethesa pointed it out. Thank you. Download the latest version of iTunes. Open iTunes and connect the nano to your PC or Mac, click on the iPod box at the top right of the iTunes screen (next to iTunes Store). It should take you to the Summary page and you should see a picuture of the iPod Nano. Click on "Music" next to the Summary tab. Click the box "Sync Music". Your music should start syncing right away.

I have this problem too...have reset device, reinstalled iTunes, shared files on desktop and nothing. Ipod is recognised by computer and iTunes but when I press synch the arrows on the device circle for a few seconds than nothing happens. I have tried autofill which does transfer music to my ipod but nothing else (no podcasts etc). Anyone help? Ipod Nano 7th Gen, Windows 7

Okay, but my iTunes does not even pick up my new Nano(7th generation). Please help and i have downloaded everything...

Same prob here. My new iPod Nano, 7th generation won't sync to my existing iTunes Library. My previous ipod syncs fine. Here's what happened. I connected my new one using USB port on my PC (os Windows 7). I then followed the onscreen instructions. I registered it, and updated the iPod software, and then I got to the sync step. I pressed the sync button several times and it would not sync. I did not get any error message. The iPod does appear not on the left hand pane. ( I think that was version 10) It does appear on the RIGHT side as my "ipod 16GB" (My old ipod was 8GB).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Before you sync, go to "music" in your ipod menu. The "sync music" is not selected by default. Make sure that this is ticked. Then perform the sync again. Cheers!

When I touch the music icon on my new 7th gen iPod, I just get a screen that says "No Music, You can sync music from iTunes". I don't see the "sync music" box you are talking about. Oh and what does "ticked" mean?

that didn't help.. When I hit on Music, it just shows me Music, Movies, etc. No place for settings or anything else

All right, let me get off, and will return this thing, and buy a cheaper Samsung player. I've never had this problem. This would've been my 3rd iPod. What a wasted effort. I'm really upset w Apple.

When I said ipod menu, these are the menu when your ipod is connected to iTunes. Connect to iTunes and click on the upper right the "ipod". Then by defualt the summary page will appear. Beside the summary, you will find music, photo, etc. Go to music then select sync music. Then go to summary page again and check the lower part of the screen and look for sync. Select to start syncing. Cheers!
