Why can't I login remotely using Server.app?

I reset my password on the server and verified that I can connect (mount a volumne) but when I enter the user name and password after launching Server.app on my laptop (not server computer) it just shakes like the password is wrong.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Same version of Sever.app on server and on your computer?

Did you try to connect with Server.app from your machine the server using the LAN IP address of the server?

Are you challenged for user/pw?

Walk through, in detail, the process you are using?

And worth mentioning, you can screenshare to the server to manage it.

Me- I prefer that over using Server.app

Yes, same version. I actually copied the Server.app application from the server to my laptop. When the Server.app starts, I click Other Server and select the server from the list. The name and IP are listed and are correct. Im challenged for username and password. I've changed the password for the user on the server which I'm using to login so I know it is correct. Also, the user is set to allow control of the server. Yes, I can screen share using the same user account I'm using to trying to connect using Server.app.
