Aperture does not start

I tried to start Aperture, but instead received this error message:

"The installed graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for Aperture."

The iphoto app works fine, I need some advice.

Thanks.

iMac (24-inch Mid 2007), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

You may accidentally have booted into "Safe Mode", then certain functions of the graphics card will be disabled, see: Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

Restart your system and try again. Did Aperture work previously, or is this the first time you are using Aperture? Did you have your Graphics Card recently replaced?
