Sorry, I may have misunderstood what you were asking. You mentioned "network infrastructure", so I thought you were asking if you could use an Apple Fibre Channel card as a network interface, like for TCP/IP, as an alternative to using an ethernet interface. My answer was "no, you can't do that" specific task.


If you just want to access storage from an Apple fibre channel card via fiber optic cables, then you can do that with a transceiver. This (somewhat dated) article lists compatible transceivers--most of which are for multimode fiber and one of which is for single mode:
