Macbok Pro USB port not working????

After updating to OS X 10.8.2 a USB port is no longer working. My macbook pro is early 2011. I had my wireless mouse plugged in and it wasn't recognized. I can't sync or charge wtih that port either. It is the port farthest from me, the upper port. How can I fix this issue?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

"YOU" May not be able to. Most of the time if a port fails it is caused by a hardware problem. Since the USB ports are solder onto the main Logic board the only way to fix it is to Replace the Logic board. If you do not have the extended Applecare warranty that can be quit expensive.

You can try a SMC reset. Search Apple support for SMC reset for instructions.

Good Luck.

Hey, i think i may have the same issue as you. I have a early 2010 MBP running 10.8.2, and this is the status of my disfunctional USB

Product ID: 0x1361

Vendor ID: 0x1038

Version: 0.00

Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec

Manufacturer: La-VIEW Technology

Location ID: 0xfd120000 / 4

Current Available (mA): 500

Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)

start your mbp in rescue mode (command R) with a mouse plugged in to the disfuncional USB port, and if the mouse works (which it does for me) it means that theres a software problem (dont bother going to apple care for this since they wont know what to do).

Edit - Also i did do a SMC, and PRAM reset with no success
