No.

Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the "substitutes" including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.

Buy iLife 09 or iLife 11 ON DISK, to get iDVD.

Good evening, Karen.

In terms of inexpensive alternatives, the preceeding posts cover the options. Depending on your needs and budget, there are pro/semi-pro alternatives. In Apple's pro world, DVD Studio Pro has been the mainstay and here are some hints about that world:

DVD Studio Pro is only available as part of the Final Cut Studio package that was discontinued in 2006. However, it's available at Amazon.com for $1477 or there abouts. eBay has several versions ranging from $200 for version 2 to $265 up for version 3.

There's just no reasonable replacement for iDVD from iLife 11 or iLife 09 and they are still availabe from Amazon.com: iLife 11 for about $45.
