Uploading HD video from exacti VPC-HD2000

Hi

Trying to upload from the HD camcorder to iMac/Imovie (direct), via USB2 cable. Bits of clips missing within iMovie, usually at the end of a clip. Frustrating. Clips are complete on the SD card.

Should i upload to the mac harddrive and then import to iMovie? is it a usb capacity thing? I uploaded an awful lot in one batch. Help!

Would a SD card reader be better than camera-usb cable-iMac?

Thanks in advance

The USB should work - always have it connected to mains power as well.

Having said that, I have a similar camera but always use the SD card reader in my macbook.

I find it easier to drop all the video files into a folder on my desktop.

I can then preview them (highlight and press space bar), pick the ones I want to use and import them into iMovie grouped into separate events.

You do not necessarily want everything off your camera in iMovie all at once.

Best,
