Does the iphone 4 have a sim card tray, and if so where is it.

Can you tell me where to find out if it's a GSM or CDMA? Here's the deal - my sister had a AT&T iPhone 3G. In October she upgraded to an iPhone 4. My sister is completely iliterate when it comes to phones or computers and asked the sales person if she could use the sim card from her old phone as she wanted to keep her photos and such. The sales person told my sister that neither the 3G or 4 iphone had sim cards and she would have to use a computer to transfer her pictures and other info over. My sister does not have a computer and was upset to find this out. I told her the iphone 3G DOES have a sim card but not sure about the 4. I don't know why the sales person would tell her the 3G did not have one. I'm trying to help my sister but without having the info on her new phone I'm kind of at a loss. I just called her and asked her to look on the box her phone came in to see if she could tell me if it was a GSM or CDMA like you mentioned and she could not find it there. I'm not familiar with the iphone 4 so don't know where to tell her to look. Any help would be appreciated. Happy New Years!

If it has a SIM card slot, it is GSM.

If it does not, then it is CDMA

You can look at the manual, as can she to see where to look for the sim card slot. Click Support at the top of this pge, then click Manuals.

Verizon is CDMA - NO SIM slot. Did she buy a Verizon iphone? Iphones are intended to be synced with your computer. They are not really stand alone devices. No iphone stores anything to the SIM card.

No, her phone is not a Verizon iphone. I'm not sure how she gets along without syncing to a computer. It's hard to get info from her over the phone so will need to get with her in person tomorrow and find out what she use to do. Again....thank you for your time.

OK I think I can help you on this one, I think there is a missconception on the terminology, if the iPhone is from AT&T it does have a SIM card tray, you will find it on the left side of the iPhone. All you need is the key insert it in the little hole and it pops out.

If the iPhone 4 is from Verizon it DOES NOT have a sim card tray.

What the sales person told your sister is accurate, the iPhone does not have a slot for an SD card which is an "storage" card mainly used to store all sorts of data such as pictures, videos and more.

Locally the iphone has lots of storage capacity so your sister wont have the necesity of ever expanding her cellphone memory for the very reason of that she has the best cellular device in the market which is an IPHONE!

I don't think she will ever fill up her iphone's memory.
