Q: how to recover my data

Hi there,

I just erased my imac data using Find my mac app. I unlocked it immidiatly but it seems like it already erased it. My external hard dive is not working as well!!

What should I do and how can I recover my files?

Once you reinstate your Mac and log into iCloud it should reinstate your mail, contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, photostream photos and shared documents. You can also redownload purchased content from iTunes and reinstall any purchased applications from the Mac App Store. But everything else would have needed to be backed up.
