So after you dis-associate a device with an old appleid, how do you assign the "new" appleid to the device?

When I set up my daughter's new iPod touch I entered my wife's appleid. So now the device was associated with that ID. I read that I should create a unique ID for my daughter so I did that, and then I removed the device from my wife's account through iTunes. I didn't think it would let me do that due to the 90 day restriction, but I was able to remove the device. It didn't say 90 days remaining, as I had expected.

Anyway, assuming the device was successfully removed from my wife's account, how do I now associate the device with my daughters new ID? Does it even matter which ID the device is associated with?

iPod touch, iOS 6.0.2

Basically, this association feature to prevent users from sharing content with others that they did not purchase themselves. This ensures that you will have only the right to redownload your purchases and prevent distribution 🙂

That article describes how to remove an associated device from an appleid, but does not tell you how to associate a device to another ID after following those steps.
