Eliminate Christmas music from playback in iTunes 11

When using iTunes 11, I want to eliminate my Christmas music from playing back when all songs are added to Upnext list. (with or without Shuffle turned on). Does anyone know how to do this?

I have a large collection of Christmas music. What I eventually did was create a seperate Library for the Christmas Music. It's worked out well. During the season, I just switch into the Christmas Library as needed.

Thx. How do I create a new Library in iTunes 11; and how do I switch to that Library and switch back to the main Library? If switching to/from Libraries is easy, that sounds like a good solutoin.

I saw where someone said to create a Playlist for Christmas songs and a Playlist for everything else. Only problem with that is you have to drag new additions to the "everything else" Playlist everytime you have a new song addition to your Library.

As long as you added them to the new Library, you can delete from the main Library. No reason to take up HD space.

Just make sure in iTunes Preferences/Advanced: Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library is "selected" and you should be fine.

And yes, I would hang onto the playlist file on the Desktop until you're confident all is well.

I see now. When I add songs to the Main Library they are just added there.

When I add songs to the Christmas Library, they are just added there.

Bear with me (I'm a "have to know" type person!), what is the Media file used for? If it's just an internal iTunes file, no need to answer. Thank you so much for your help. Now I'm set to just hear my lovely Christmas music JUST at Christmastime!

I discovered another iTunes related question. I have 3 entries in my main Library that aren't music. I want to keep them but don't want them to pop up and play when I'm playing music (they're training sessions, etc). I created a Playlist for them but that doesn't solve my problem. I really don't want to create another Library like I did for my Christmas music. Other than creating another Library, is there anyway I can keep them from playing except when I play them through the playlist? It's not a big deal...I can just skip them when they pop up. It's just annoying.

I tried what you said, but I ran into a problem. I unchecked one of the non-music items. It disappeared from the Songs (list view) as though it had been deleted. Is this normal? When I went to the Playlist I created for these 3 non-music items, it was there and was unchecked.

I wanted to test that everything was working as it should. In Music/Songs (list view), I did a Command-A to highlight all songs (which were checked). But how do I get them into "Up Next: From Music" so all the songs will play continuously?
