Q: Coffee spilled on keyboard
Hello. A friend with an eMac has spilt coffee on their keyboard. Not likely it will be serviceable after this. Two questions:
1--If they purchase a non Apple keyboard, will a wireless one work and does it depend on the OS? (their previous one
was NOT wireless).
2--Will any non Apple corded keyboard work?
Thanks for any assistance that I can forward on to them.
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

You can find older Apple USB keyboards relatively cheap either on eBay or Amazon.
Or if you have any used Mac resellers in your area, they may have older Apple keyboards on hand, too!
It's best to use Apple Mac compatible keyboards with Macs.
You can purchase new Mac compatible keyboards from Kensington, Matias or Macally.
Wireless keyboards work using either Infared receiver technology or Bluetooth.
IR type keyboards work with Macs, but are harder to find, now.
In order to use a Bluetooth wireless keyboard you need to purchase both the Bluetooth keyboard and purchase a plug-in USB Bluetooth dongle.
One online Mac vendor that carries these is Other World Computing. Also known as OWC or macsales.
