I have downloaded several applications on my Iphone 4 and the icons on the phone are dimmrd with the word "Waiting" under the icon. Are they uploading?

I have a new Iphone 4s and I am attempting to upload several apps. I am connected to my PC. The icons appear dimmed on my phone with the word "Waiting" beneath the icon. Are they uploading or is there something else I need to do?

iPhone 4S, iOS 4.3, Currently connected to PC

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Only 2 or 3 apps will download at a time, if you are downloading many apps some may well be waiting for quite a while. If you feel the process has stalled, try restarting the device and tapping the waiting icons again.
