My link was removed by Apple because i couldn't post the link apparently because they say it didn't answer the question. It was the answer right from Apple employees. How did that not answer the question?

I guess you need to just search online for Apple Store visit with iPhone 4S that has the wifi grayed out and battery issues after ios7 upgrade

I saw your video. I'm not sure what the shocking information is, that's what everyone has been saying. In warranty = fix. Out of warranty = fee. That's the bottom line.

Are you sure that recording someone without their knowledge is legal where you live? Why were you hiding the video camera anyway? If you were concerned about being told that you can't record your interactions with employees, maybe that also explains why the video link was removed from here.

I just did the blow dryer solutions and I am shocked to say it worked. The wifi on my husbands phone went Breyer out this morning and I tried several suggestions like the airplane mode, store network setting and a few others and they didn't work. I was reluctant to put a blow dryer on the phone but I did and it is now working. Thank you for the suggestions.

"So wait, first it's a hardware issue and now it's a software issue? Which is it? "

It's a hardware issue that is exposed by the software. As I said in another thread:

No, it is not a software issue. If it was a software issue then placing it in the freezer and/or heating it up would have no effect. (Do you think the hair dryer is re-programming the code?) It is a hardware issue that can be _temporarily_ fixed, in some cases, by thermally stressing the phone.

If it helps, think of a slightly loose wifi chip. (Not that this is the actual issue, it's just an example) It works fine until it's stressed by a lot of usage (like, say, downloading an iOS update?), then it un-seats itself and stops working. Heating or freezing the phone causes the insides to expand/contract, thereby slightly re-seating the chip and causing it to work again.... until it gets too hot and unseats itself again.

"I think the new ios is what is causing the harware issue. It appears to be a hardware problem that is caused by a sofware problem. In other words: Apples crap soffware broke my phone. "

More like "Apples software exposed a hidden hardware issue on some iPhones."

If it were the iOS software causing the problem, then EVERY SINGLE PERSON who updated to that version of iOS would have that problem.

i'm having the same issues, wifi greyed out and battery only last me about 7-8 hrs!

i took my device to apple store and they checked it out saying that i have hardware issues.

since i'm out of my warranty period, so $199 pls. i've refused to paid and left the store.

did the freeze test, only worked for 5 mins or so. i tried it for a few times, wifi would be on for a few mins then greyed out again.

so, did the hair dryer test, and i'm happy to report that it has some how reset the wifi warning and it's been working fine for the past 3 days!

and apple, there's no issues with my hardware! it's your programmer that screwed up and my iphone is working fine even after the genius telling me i have a defective unit!

so those ppl out there having issues after updating ios, pls try the hair dryer fix, and it really did work.

Excellent explanation. Yet, I fear that it falls upon deaf ears.

Agreed. Probably coincidental that many of us had updated the IOS; more likely that this was a hardware issue inherent in 4s iphones manufactured in the same lot. Bottom line is Apple should cover any manufacturing defects for two years--the length of a standard cell contract.

Just reheated my 4s for the 3rd time. First time the fix lasted about a week, second time almost three weeks. I'm going to call a local repair shop to see if they can reseat the chip.
