Apple is too afraid we would discover a flaw on the ios, that's the only reason i could think of why they don't allow downgrading...
Appstore are not available worldwide, maybe resellers but they won't help you if you didn't buy the phone from them...
And lastly, it is iphone 4s that we are talking about, as far as i know downgrading isn't possible even If you have the tools/software/saved files/access to system (in short a jb phone).

1. I just explained two extremely valid reasons why downgrading is not supported/apporved by Apple; interference with restoring data from a backup (i.e., an iOS 7 backup cnanot be restored to an iOS 6 device) and app data loss (i.e., data created for an app while in iOS 7 cannot be used on a device that is using iOS 6).
In other words, catastrophic data loss is a reason that Apple doesn't support downgrading.
2. Until you state what country you purchased the device in, no one can even discuss with you to suggest a path of resolution for your issue.
3. I'm not going to gointo etails about a non-Apple approved procedure. That's not allowed on this forum, so the topic is even up for debate or discussion or explanation.
That's not even a valid reason...
If it's not supported then apple should make it so...
There's no point in giving you our country of origin...
What makes you think we don't know what we're doing?
We are here searching for solutions...
Means, we've tried everything, solutioms suggested by apple, contacting them, etc...
Someome did post a solution even though it's temporary...
There are fortunate ones who still have their phone under warranty anand have it replaced, not once but mutiple times for some...
Others have expired warranty and others bought their phone in other country...
You won't understand since you don't probably have the same issue as us...
So please, just stop, unless you could give us a better solution...
If that would be fine?
TJBUSMC, you can't be serios about this. Catastrophic data loss ??? Apple do not need to care about user's data. If user not backup his data it is his fault. They are not responsible for user data at all. But they are responsible for a software which ruined our phones because it could not handle it. Understand this once for all. Apple force us to upgrade to newest version of ios because they saying there are security risks if we would not upgrade. Besides, there is that boring ios update icon shining on us all the time. So everyone do it sooner or later... And if anything screw up, they just say sorry, you did it on your risk... This is riddiculous, they should not be responsible for software bugs, but for hardware failure they should definitelly be. But we said this milion times....
And jailbreaking ? I could jailbreak anytime but what for? I had it several time but only because I was curious. I don't need it and 99% of ios users as well. I really have 1$ for buy an app if I need it. I don't like jailbreak because it could cause a security risk but there are some people who do jailbreak because of extending ios functionality which is not yet implemented in the system. Not everyone jailbreak because he wants to steal. There is nothing wrong about it. Moreover, every jailbreak make the ios more secure and this is only good for Apple. There are companies who paid lot of money to pople who find a system voulnerability and here Apple has it for free! This is the best thing that could happen to Apple. By reverse engineering they find the exploit and fix it in next ios version and they are good for next few months until a new vulnerability is found... And all this is for free. And if we want to be on safe side, we have to upgrade. But never the software update should cause a hardware malfunction. And if so, someone should take a responsibility for it. This has nothing to do with warranty.
And just for you JTBUSMC, even if you jailbreak your phone, there is neither official or unofficial way to downgrade the iOS for devices with A5+ processor. If you don't know anything about this, please hold your comments. And if you're so sure, PM me this "non-Apple approved procedure" to downgrade. I'm really curios about this. And if you don't, for me you are just liar... sorry.
@jamted, you are 100% right but you can't explain it to a guy who never had this issue and who says that iOS7 can be downgraded in unoffical way...
...I don't get how you guys can disagree on something so stupid as this...? 😁 Cracks me up...

Yes, it is a valid reason. Because if an Apple user lost their personal data on an Apple device, they would likely blame Apple.
Apples should NOT make it so, because adding more problems is a stupid idea. A real solution does not create additional problems. This is common sense.
The point in stating the country in which the device was purchased is so we can make a recommendation that is suitable for your country.
The reason I don't think you know what you're doing is based upon your posts.
If all of the solutions that Apple has provided, and this forum have provided, are not suitable, then you need to seek help outside of this forum. The solutions in this thread are all the possible ones that any of us can post, here on this forum, with this forum's rules. Even some of the solutions 'bend' the rules of this forum a bit, but the Hosts still allow them.
There is no better solution, available on this forum. So seek guidance elsewhere.

LOL!!!
Okay, I'm not talking about a situation where a user does not back up their data. I'm talking about a situation where a user DOES back up their data properly, but then after a downgrade of the iOS (either manually, or because the replacement device has an older iOS installed), the backup will not restore. If you have an iPhone running iOS 7, create an iCloud backup, and then try to restore that backup to an iOS 6 device, it will not work. That's why some people that get a device replaced by Apple have to update their iOS on the replacement device before restoring the backup.
Apple did not force you to upgrade your iOS. Explain exactly HOW they forced you to do so. They may have RECOMMENDED updating, but they did not force you to do so.
And they ARE responsible for hardware failure which is why I've said, over and over and over again, to address this with Apple as a HARDWARE problem, not a software problem. It's like you're not even reading my posts.
Once again, here's the script to use:
"If the wi-fi chip was defective from the very beginning, and only the process of an iOS update would create enough stress to reveal this defect, then there was no way for me to report this defect during the normal warranty period. No other operations on the iPhone created enough stress to reveal this defect, which was present all along. Therefore, because the device was defective from day of purchase, but there was no way for me to test for that defect, it was impossible for me to report it prior to it being revealed. The fact that it only revealed after the warranty expired should not infringe upon the validity of my claim."
I agree that jailbreaking is not a good idea. Glad we agree on that.
You're halfway right on something else. There is no 'official' way to downgrade an iOS... regardless of the processor. And I'm impressed that you know the difference between an A4 & A5 processor. The fact that you make that distinction shows you can at least look up information online.
Have you heard of Google? Or Bing? It's amazing how easy these search engines are to find information from all over the world. Just a random tangent, of course, having nothing to do with our current discussion.
Um... exactly how am I supposed to PM you? There is not a 'private message' function on this website, and sharing personal information is not allowed either, so... Hm. Is it any wonder that I have concerns about your technical knowledge, if you're not even aware that there is not a PM function on this website?
Now, does it matter if it's an A4 or A5+ processor? Sort of. But, that's as far I'm willing to push the rules here. For anything further, just use Google or Bing.
OK, just to make it clear:
1.) There is no official way how to downgrade.
2.) There is no UNOFFIAL way how to downgrade on A5+ processors at present time.
If you declare an oposite you are liar. I'm software engineer so you don't need to be concerned about my technical knowledge and give me lessons about jailbreaking.
So this is my last comment on your stupid posts. Waste of time with you. Hopefully others will also ignore you and you will stop trolling here and we can get back to solving the hardware issue with wifi forced by iOS 7 upgrade...

I fixed that for you. You're welcome.
Well add me to the list....I have read every single post, tried every suggestion, got shot down at the Apple store who then referred me to call MY APPLE. Had two people who were very helpful running me through different things to try but once again, they are not going to help me. I am so frustrated that APPLE knows that there is a problem with the 4s (like others mine worked fine until I downloaded IOS 7) but won't help their customers out. It was obvious to me that EVERY single apple employee that I have talked to knows that there is an issue with 4s but can't say anything. I am going to look at trying to contact one of my local television stations with consumer help. Boston is a big market that I live in and I am sure there will be plenty of people out there like all of us who got screwed by apple. Like an earlier post mentioned, when automobile companies learn of a problem they do recalls....APple should at least be trying to help their 4 S customers with this issue. Looks like I am done with iPhones and most likely APple in general. Samsung is giving them a run for the money and has better customer support.
You're right, they know about the problem, but they're not doing anything... They won't help, but then an employee talk to me privately and he said there are lots of customers with the same problem on the 4s (mostly 16gb). He also said, if you have other fiends with 4s, just tell them not to update... Seems like they are not allowed to talk about it... Anyway, mine is still working after i heated the wifi chip directly... I also found this solution on other sites. Seems to last longer than heating with the back-cover on...
It's good to hear that it still works for you. When did you do it last time ? My heat gun just arrived - temp up to 1166F 🙂 so I will try a direct hit on a chip as soon as the problem occures again. Hope this will resolve it and if not, then two new wifi chips from China are one the way 😝 However, it still holds after I've used the hairdrayer a week ago... Wonder for how long...

Really? 1166 degrees Farenheit? That's an amazing heatgun, since the temperature of molten rock is about 1300 degrees Farenheit. And lead melts at about 621° Farenheit.
😁
Holy crap that heat gun is an Armageddon! I think he meant to say "116 degrees," not the temperature of stinking LAVA...lol That heat gun must have costed as much as a small European Country!!
116°F ??? The boiling point of water is 212°F (100°C). So no, it's really 630°C or 1166°F if you want. It is not a joke. In any case, my wifi has failed again so I'm going to try reflow. Of course I use only temp around 250°C to melt the solder below the chip. I will report back the results. Hopefully I will not kill the phone :-P
Btw, from wiki:
"Magma is a complex high-temperature fluid substance. Temperatures of most magmas are in the range 700 °C to 1300 °C (or 1300 °F to 2400 °F), but very rare carbonatite melts may be as cool as 600 °C, and komatiite melts may have been as hot as 1600 °C. Most are silicatemixtures."
So yes, there are minerals which melts at 600°C so my heatgun (and many others) would be theoretically able to melt them. And it cost 40 euros and not a price of European country ;-)
Ok, reflow done. Let's see how it works and especially for how long 🙂
