Hi SDBA,

You should check this page from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083.

In principle, if you plug in your iphone to your ocmputer, the autoplay should start and then you can transfer your pictures and videos. I did it before with my mom's ipad and it worked super well. Hope it helps.

As for the problem, it's indeed a big strange, though I could see the connection being loose and kind of working temporarilly until iOS diagnoses it and shuts it down. Would be nice to at least get an official full explanation from Apple but they're probably not doing it because of legal implications.

Hi rene273,

Thanks for information. But I might have not explained my request sufficiently.

The problem is that last time I synchronized my iphone photos and videos was a year ago. And I had deactivated the iclouds right from the beginning. And so because of this annoying problem with the wifi on the iphone, I read some of the pervious comments about resetting it by erasing all content and setting (the person was mentioning that it does not affect the pictures and videos, etc.). It was the most stupid step I could adhere to... And so all my iphone content is gone now. And whoever I ask I get the answer that it's either the synchronization or the iclouds. If these two are not properly updated, then I lose all my memories... I even tried certain software that scanned my iphone, but it brought back only some messages, but not what I needed... That's what my actual question is - if it's possible to bring back any any iphone content if I've never synchronized them and don't use the icloud?

As for this most most annoying wifi problem, I really hope Apple will come with a certain official answer, even taking into account the legal side. They should take responsibility. Otherwise they might really risk losing all these thousands users and more. It's a huge community and the negative word of mouth can really strongly affect.

BTW, I haven't used the hairdryer technique and can't even think of that. It sounds weird and dangerous...

Hi All........

Wi-Fi greyed out and B/T stopped working following ios 6.1.3 Just tried the hairdryer fix and it worked......Didnt use too much heat and phone was not too hot to handle, certainly not hot enough to melt solder, so its possible the fix could be due to "temperature coefficience of resistance" as temperature rises so does the resistance? I,m not a boffin just an electrician and learnt that at college 30 years ago. (Just a thought) ?

I dont think they will release a fix or let us downgrad them, they want us to buy new phones or spend £150 to get them fixed, I was in chat with apple support for 5 hours the other night trying to restore the phone through itunes, after at least 10 attempts it finally restored. Regarding the Wi-Fi problem the guy at apple said it was an inherant hardware problem that has only come to light after the update to ios 6.1.3 But if I had taken out the apple care additional gaurantee they would fix it for free, My iphone 4s is only 1 month out of warranty......it *****.

3 hours since heat treatment and still connected to Wi-Fi BTW wifes 3g phone is un-affected by update?

I tried everything from Apple Support to repair greyed out WiFi..On/off, Restart, etc -> nothing works. Most shocking fact is that i went to the Apple Reseller (Isource), and they told me that Apple guarancy is about giving a new phone but for 1400 zł/460 EUR( Im from Poland). They said that there is no difference between kind of issue! Im so shocked.. I have my iPhone 4s about 4 months, and they said if i want to repair it i have to pay for it ! Its that true? The second way is giving back my iPhone to my network mobile. But I was buying it from some sell point in shopmarket, so that option is definitely reject.( i bought it new, and original!)
I hope that you have some idea, and its some kind of joke that i have to pay for repair, when my phone have guarancy.

Thanks guys
Im waiting for response

thanks for welcome 🙂
I understand your situation, but as you said - yours iphone was within guarantee, but my has 6 month guarantee to the end so its truly unbelievable for me that, if I have almost new iPhone( I bought it 6 december 2012) and I have to pay for replace new iPhone. Also guarantees should work "for free" without any costs incurred by the customer. If customer have the guarantee they should replace or repair it for free..

When I bought it i was really convinced that Apple iPhone is best on the market

Best fail-safe system and easy to use for any customer, but now im so dissapointed..
I considered buying some new products from Apple, such as Macbook and iPad mini.. but now..
they lost a customer.. really disapointig
thanks for response, I hope that it would be happy news. Unfortunately not

Thanks from Poland 🙂

Crazy! Read the all thread! Tried everything but the hair dryer (at first)! Though it was 1st of April related...

Eventually I gave it a try! I put the hair dryer on low power and it didn't work. So I tried again on high power and guess what: it worked! I didn't even got the "unit is to warm" message and it I still could touch it! Note that I hide most of the phone in a cooking glove and heated only the jack plug area main camera side! So I don't think it's welding related but rather some sensors reset by temp or reset of a flash memory in some chip.. Just know that it worked!

It was definitely update related though and the battery was draining a swell and that seems to have stop too!

I agree on the iPhone hair dryer package (stole my joke, mate!)
