What is the max RAM for my macbook pro 7,1?

I just saw at OWC that I now can put in this macbook pro up to 16GB as long as I am running 10.7 or higher which I am...Crucial on the other hand says 8GB is it....which is it?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Thank you for posting the link. I did miss that when I went to the OWC website.

Ciao.

John Galt, greetings; Sorry, I overlooked your links. Simply a case of inattentiveness.

What I find curious is that only the 13" MBP with 2.4 and 2.66 CPUs are compatible and no mention is made of the 15" and 17" MBPs. I happen to have a 2010 17" MBP with a 2.66 CPU. Obviously there must be other differences involved here.

I think this will warrant a call to the OWC technical department to satisfy my curiosity. I have no compulsion to increase the RAM on that unit (I have 16 GB in the 2011 MBP) but it looks that an amendment will have to be made in Mactracker.

Regards.
