Hello,
I keep getting the following error message: There is a problem with the Office database. To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility...."
When I attempt to use this utility, steps 1 through 5 are to be completed. It cannot make it past step 1 without telling me the database cannot be rebuilt. What can I do to alliviate this problem?

Try reinstalling Office.
Reinstalled from disc - same error message.

Just follow step 4 or 5 to rebuild your database
I try both and now work fine
I had the same problem (after Mavericks install).
To cure the error message DELETE all of your Main Indentity(ies) in:
for 2008 Office
/username/documents/microsoft user data/office 2008 identities
For 2011 Office
/username/documents/microsoft user data/office 20011 identities

This is the move. Delete "Main Identity" folder
I just realized the same problem. If I delete the main identity folder will I still have all my contacts/messages info in Outlook? I can't lose that info!
