On the iPod touch 5th gen when I use the volume buttons it sometimes jumps 2 white square bits and sometimes dose none? Is this something new in them?

I have no idea why it does this... Basically if the volume is at 0 and I press it 2 times up 2 white squares would appear but if I press once more it don't go up at all... Then if I press it again it do one more white square so the volume so far is 3 and I pressed it 4 times... But if I press one more time it goes straight to 5 white squares... Why it do 2 at once? It just so weird

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

maybe this is happening because you set a volume limit. i had this too. i presssed down once and 2 squares went down ONLY with headphones/earphones. try to turn off your volume limit in settings->music and put volume limit all the way up. try after. if it still occurs then it is probably a glitch/bug, update to the new ios 6.1 that came out yesterday. hope i helped 🙂
