ADAT/SMPTE sync

Does Logic support sample accurate sync? I can't find the answer anywhere.

I used to uses a midiman syncman and m-audio 2x2. On the occaision where I had to sync my adat to Logic (my old ADAT tapes all had 25fps smpte striped on track 8) I would hook the syncman up to the second in/out on the 2x2.

Now I have the 828mk2 and using the midi port on that. I can get the MOTU smpte console to see both the striped track and the sync from the adat via the adat sync but I can't make Logic see either of these sync streams.

The motu manual states that the audio software used must support sample accurate sync (they use their own Audio Desk and DP in their example) but I can't find out if Logic will support this.

I really hope it does as I'll have to dig out the old syncman and 2x2 if not.

Thanks

As far as i am aware it does not have sample accurate sync, you can get logic to sync but it does it by mtc or smpte which is not sample accurate and can vary on each pass, no use if you want consistency or need to do multiple passes. Looks like get dp or audio desk, do your transfers then import into logic. Seems to work well although I have come across sample offsets due to recording/hardware converter delay. good luck
