(iphone 4S with IOS 6) garageband crashes on every attempt to open it

Every time I try to open garageband, it lookslike it is trying to open the last song I was working on, but it just crashes out after about a second. I have tried everything short of deleting the app and re-installing it. 2 questions- how do I get garageband to start working again and is my song I was working on gone forever?

I have not scoured this forum for this topic, I am sure it has come up before. Perhaps you can just post a link to a thread that addresses this. Thanks!
